About Us
We started printing T-shirts using transfers we made on our ink-jet printer. But we weren't satisfied with the quality of the final product so we looked into doing it right - that is to say screen printing. What we discovered was not only were we able to deliver a really great looking shirt, but we really liked screen printing. Very quickly our customers started asking for sport shirts with their logo's embroidered on them. So, like with screen printing, we tried to start out small with a very small machine - ok, a glorified sewing machine. This little machine worked ok, but was unable to really do the job. So, we went out a bought our first commercial embroidery machine - a 16 needle device that can stitch at up to 1500 stitches per minute - you really don't want your fingers anywhere near the needles when this machine is running.
Finally we needed a name - many came and went. Both of our families have a Native American background to some extent. That, along with our love of the American Southwest and the frequent sightings of hawks we came upon Soaring Hawks.
For a Christmas card a member of our family painted a buffalo scene - we took this card and make the first of the Soaring Hawks Signature line. We have since been adding on to this line with southwestern themes to start and hope to expand into other genres soon. As for our size - we're small - just the two of us for now. We like the fact that this allows us to concentrate on quality and the highest in customer service.
